Happy Tuesday! Each week, I bring you into my home and show you a little more into the everyday life of this money saving sister ;) Today I wanted to share with you one of my most favorite rehab projects! Two years ago I scored this beauty at a Salvation Army for $100 dollars. It was ugly looking. Brown wood with horrible hardware, but as soon as I saw it..I knew that I could make it pretty!
Of course, I rehabbed this beauty before I started blogging, so I have zero pictures to show you, but you get the gist of it. I took it home. Painted it a coral color (wish I had the exact color for you because it’s beautiful) and added some new hardware and voila, I had a new armoire…….to put my baby’s stuff in!
Now, I should let you know, I’m not one of those people who likes to have baby crap everywhere. Between toiletries, diapers, toys, books, and everything else they use, I prefer to have it neatly organized, out of the way…and not looking baby-ish…at all. That’s just my design preference and since I don’t have a dedicated ‘play room’ in my house, it was important to me to keep the design aesthetic with all access to baby’s stuff..which is how this cabinet came to be!
As you can see, I’ve got all his books, little toys and toiletries housed in the cabinet for easy access. It’s so cute, he walks up to the cabinet and bangs on the door and that means he wants to read a book!
