White Chocolate Covered Banana Ghost Recipe

Ok, so forgive me…this isn’t entirely a healthy snack because well…it’s covered in chocolate, but it is a nice compromise between healthy & sweet, right? Trust me, your kids will love them…my kids did! As a matter of fact, I had to take one away from Saylor because she tried to convince me that she should have 2 of them as an afternoon snack. Um. No.

In order to make these ghoulish guys…you’ll need white chocolate melting chips and bananas. I have a bag of chocolate chips in the photo because I thought I was going to use them for the eyes, but it turns out they were too big…so I used black icing gel instead.

Next, you are going to want to cut the bananas in half and put them on a popsicle stick. You’ll then stick them in the freezer for a couple of hours. Do not miss this step. Otherwise the chocolate will not stick to the banana very well…at all. I learned this the hard way ;)

bananas-dip
Once your bananas are frozen, you can melt the chocolate either in the microwave or a double boiler. Once the chocolate is melted, dip the banana in the chocolate. Once dipped, I also used a small spatula to help me cover the entire banana with the melted chocolate. Place the dipped bananas on a sheet of wax paper.

All you have left to do is put the eyes and mouth. As I mentioned before, I used black icing but you could use any sort of black candies or mini chocolate chips.
